GetMeal Privacy Policy

GetMeal helps you save recipes, plan meals, and build shopping lists. This policy explains what data GetMeal collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Data We Collect
Account data:
- Email address
- User ID
- Sign-in and session information
User content:
- Recipes you save or enter
- Recipe URLs and recipe page content submitted for import
- Meal plans
- Shopping lists
- Pantry, kitchen, preference, tag, rating, and note information you choose to enter
Device, usage, and diagnostics data:
- App interactions used to understand product behavior
- Crash logs
- Performance diagnostics
- Device and app version information needed to keep the app reliable
We do not collect advertising identifiers for tracking, and we do not sell personal data.
How We Use Data
We use data to:
- Provide recipe import, meal planning, shopping list, sync, and offline features
- Save and sync your recipe library across devices
- Generate AI-assisted recipe parsing and weekly meal plans
- Troubleshoot crashes and performance problems
- Respond to support requests
- Maintain security and prevent abuse
AI And Third-Party LLM Processing
When you ask GetMeal to parse a recipe, import a URL, or generate a meal plan, the recipe URL, recipe page HTML, recipe text, and your free-form instructions may be sent to third-party LLM services, currently OpenRouter, to provide the requested feature.
This data is used to process your request. GetMeal does not use your recipes or meal plans to train GetMeal models. We do not intentionally send personally identifying information to LLM providers unless you include it in the content you submit.
Sharing
We share data only as needed to operate GetMeal:
- Cloud hosting and database providers for account, sync, and storage
- LLM providers such as OpenRouter for recipe parsing and meal-plan generation
- Crash, diagnostics, and analytics services if enabled for reliability and product improvement
- Payment processors and app stores for purchases
- Legal, safety, or security purposes when required
We do not share data with third-party advertising networks for cross-app or cross-site tracking.
Storage, Security, And Offline Use
GetMeal stores some data locally on your device so the app can work offline. Data transmitted between the app and GetMeal services is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for the data we process.
Export And Deletion
You can export your recipe library from GetMeal when export features are available in the app. You can request account or data deletion by contacting:

Before Google Play production submission, GetMeal must provide a clear account deletion request path that matches the Play Console data safety declaration.
Children's Privacy
GetMeal is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data to GetMeal, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
International Processing
Your data may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
Changes
We may update this policy as GetMeal changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate.
